Police Brief 06/11/09

By Brittany Shammas (Last updated: 06/10/09 9:55pm)

University vehicle struck, damaged

A 49-year-old Charlotte, Mich. male driving a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox struck a parked university vehicle Tuesday in the parking lot north of Mayo Hall, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The university vehicle, a 2007 Ford F-150, was parked along the curb line. The driver of the Chevrolet told police he was backing out of a parking space and did not see the parked vehicle.

He struck the driver’s side door, causing an estimated $900 of damage.

State News: Proof-read your briefs before publishing them online! It is Charlotte, MI NOT Charlotte, Mich. AP Style suggests never to abbreviate Michigan: Mich. Who is the editor there anyway? The idiot who hit the MSU vehicle in the brief above?

You might want to actually read the AP Style Book, Jim. In fact, I’ll take this random link that I found on Google News after searching “AP MI” as evidence that you’re wrong

If he were blind he wouldn’t be able to drive at all, silly. It is the blindspot, that caused the problem and something we should all think about when we are backing up.
