Not According to Plan

After divorcing his wife and losing his kids, Daniel “Tennessee” Berry found himself homeless. He decided to follow his friend’s advice and move to Michigan to find a place to live. After he could no longer live with his friend, he found himself at the Volunteers of America Homeless Shelter, 430 N. Larch St., in Lansing. Tennessee doesn’t see himself as a spiritual man, but thinks that God plays a large role in his daily life. He found an opportunity to drive donation trucks while also volunteering at the shelter’s kitchen. He said he doesn’t like having a plan for his future because nothing ever goes according to plan.

“It keeps me young at heart,” said Athletic Equipment Coordinator Bob Knickerbocker, who rolls a case of cleats to be loaded onto a truck last Thursday for the football team’s game in Minnesota. Knickerbocker and his crew prepare all the equipment every week, making sure everything the team needs is ready at a whim. Everything is put into a semi and arranged in the locker room, home or away.

MSU Hockey Press Conference 11/03/09

The MSU hockey team has gotten off to a good start, going 6-2-0 through the opening month of the season.

But the month of November could be a different story for the No. 17 Spartans, as it is viewed by MSU head coach Rick Comley as the toughest month of the season.

Comley discusses where the Spartans are currently and previews the upcoming series with No. 10 Nebraska-Omaha, which will take place Thursday and Friday at Munn Ice Arena.
